Historique
Ancienne fondation d'hospitaliers de Saint-Jean-de-Jerusalem. Resté à partir du 16e siècle dans l'ordre de Malte, la commanderie de Puyravault participe en 1643 à l'assèchement du marais sous l'autorité du chevalier François Petit de la Guerche. De cette commanderie, seule subsiste l'église du 12e siècle, qui présente une architecture caractéristique des constructions de cet ordre : vaisseau rectangulaire sans transept, voûté en berceau brisé. L'église a conservé la plupart de ses percements d'origine et l'ornementation très simple de son portail occidental. La façade occidentale, restaurée dans les années 1960, est surmontée d'un petit campanile en bâtière.

History
Former foundation of the hospitallers of Saint-Jean-de-Jerusalem. Remaining from the 16th century in the order of Malta, the commandery of Puyravault participates in 1643 in the draining of the marsh under the authority of the knight François Petit de la Guerche. Of this commandery, only the church of the 12th century subsists, which presents architecture characteristic of the constructions of this order: rectangular vessel without transept, vaulted with a broken barrel vault. The church has preserved most of its original openings and the very simple ornamentation of its western portal. The western facade, restored in the 1960s, is surmounted by a small roof-shaped campanile.
