Ruines du donjon : 12e siècle, 15e siècle. Restes des tours et courtines : 14e siècle. En 1472, après la guerre de Cent Ans, le palais des Comtes du Maine n'était plus qu'une ruine. Au milieu du 18e siècle, construction de deux bâtiments neufs en retour d'équerre. De l'ancien palais, seul demeure aujourd'hui le Gros Pilier.

History
Ruins of the keep: 12th century, 15th century. Remains of towers and curtain walls: 14th century. In 1472, after the Hundred Years War, the palace of the Counts of Maine was nothing more than a ruin. In the middle of the 18th century, construction of two new buildings in a right-angled return. Of the old palace, only the Gros Pilier remains today.
