Fosse foncée en 1901 et 1902 pour la Compagnie des Mines d'Anzin. Le chevalement subsistant de cette fosse date de 1951. Construit par l'entreprise Delattre et Frouard, c'est un chevalement à poutrelles d'acier boulonnées, de type portique, avec avant-carré porteur et mollettes superposées. Depuis le démantèlement de la fosse en 1989 et la démolition en 1991 du chevalement jumeau (n° 2) , c'est le seul vestige de cette importante fosse, témoin de l'époque de modernisation de l'après-guerre.

History
Shaft sunk in 1901 and 1902 for the Compagnie des Mines d'Anzin. The headgear remaining from this shaft dates from 1951. Built by the company Delattre et Frouard, it is a headgear with bolted steel girders, of the portal type, with load-bearing fore-frame and superimposed pulley wheels. Since the dismantling of the shaft in 1989 and the demolition in 1991 of the twin headgear (no. 2), it is the sole vestige of this important shaft, witness to the period of modernization of the post-war era.
