History
House built by architect J. Boussard for Madame Leclerc-Morel, heiress to the fortunes of the Grand Moulins of Strasbourg. Begun in 1892, the house is inspired by Roman architecture, with an atrium and wall paintings in Pompeian style. In 1902 it is acquired by the town and transformed into a municipal library. From 1905 to 1906, a second building campaign completes the winter garden and the garden, today a rose garden; the library is fitted out with 18th century woodwork from the abbey of Moyenmoutier.
