Fondée en 1855, la société Daguin disposait de cinq groupes de sondages dans les vallées de la Meurthe et de la Roanne. Les chevalements des forages sont abrités par des structures pyramidales charpentées ou dans des bâtiments en aggloméré de crassier, coiffés d'une toiture à deux versants. Ces sondages salins constituent un vestige exceptionnel d'un mode d'exploitation qui a connu sa pleine extension des années 1880 à la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Les sondages ont été obturés en 1967.

History
Founded in 1855, the Daguin company had five groups of borings in the valleys of the Meurthe and Roanne. The drilling derricks are sheltered by pyramidal timber-framed structures or in buildings made of slag aggregate, capped with a two-sloped roof. These salt borings constitute an exceptional remnant of a mode of exploitation that experienced its full extension from the 1880s to the Second World War. The borings were sealed in 1967.
