Lors de fouilles réalisées en 1952, des substructions romaine et romane ont été découvertes au nord de l'église. Des vestiges ont également été découverts sur une surface s'étendant à l'ouest de l'abbatiale jusqu'à l'extrémité du cloître, et au nord jusqu'au presbytère. Sous l'église se trouvent les vestiges de la crypte. Une partie du clocher, de la sacristie et du cloître conserve les traces de l'église du 7e siècle ainsi que des éléments des édifices des 5e et 6e siècles.

History
During excavations carried out in 1952, Roman and Romanesque substructures were discovered north of the church. Remains were also discovered over a surface extending west of the abbey church to the end of the cloister, and to the north to the presbytery. Beneath the church are the remains of the crypt. Part of the bell tower, the sacristy and the cloister retain traces of the church of the 7th century as well as elements from buildings of the 5th and 6th centuries.
