History

In the 14th century, the church was under the authority of the abbey of La Couronne (Charente). The 12th-century building presents a single nave with trefoil choir. The semi-circular apse and the arm of the transept also semi-circular, are vaulted in barrel vault. These arms are rectangular on the outside. Beneath the modern octagonal bell tower, there is a mass of columns with decorated capitals and bases (foliage, animals, coloured figures). The nave is covered by a plaster ceiling, the choir by a round-arch barrel vault. On the exterior, the western façade opens through a 13th-century portal with prismatic mouldings. The north-east and south façades of the choir preserve Romanesque remains.
