Historique
Construction du château entreprise par Guillaume de Lusignan vers 1180. Fortifications terminées au 13e siècle. Transformation du corps de logis aux 14e et 15e siècles. Le manoir a été édifié suivant un plan polygonal. Deux tours se détachent sur les courtines : une tour demi-circulaire établie à côté de la porte d'entrée et une tour établie du côté opposé. L'entrée dans la cour se fait par un pont en pierre remplaçant l'ancien pont-levis. La porte était défendue par une tour avec corbeaux et mâchicoulis dont il ne reste que les encorbellements. A l'intérieur de l'enceinte, des bâtiments ont été élevés et disposés en équerre. Celui de droit remonte au 15e siècle, constituant un logis. Celui du fond est en ruine. Ce corps de logis comprend deux étages. L'entrée s'y fait par une tour circulaire contenant l'escalier à vis. La porte de style gothique flamboyant, encadrée de colonnettes, pinacles et accolades, est surmontée d'un blason tenu par deux lions. Sur la cour intérieure, un escalier sur un arc donnait accès au chemin de ronde.

History
Construction of the castle undertaken by Guillaume de Lusignan around 1180. Fortifications completed in the 13th century. Transformation of the main dwelling in the 14th and 15th centuries. The manor was built according to a polygonal plan. Two towers stand out on the curtains: a semi-circular tower placed beside the entrance gate and a tower placed on the opposite side. Entry to the courtyard is by a stone bridge replacing the former drawbridge. The gate was defended by a tower with corbels and machicolations of which only the corbelling remains. Inside the enclosure, buildings were erected and arranged at right angles. That on the right dates to the 15th century, constituting a main dwelling. That at the back is in ruins. This main dwelling comprises two storeys. Entry is made by a circular tower containing the spiral staircase. The door in flamboyant Gothic style, framed by small columns, pinnacles and ogees, is surmounted by a shield held by two lions. On the interior courtyard, a staircase on an arch gave access to the wall-walk.
