Construit par les comtes d'Angoulême pour résister aux invasions normandes, le château a été reconstruit après la guerre de Cent ans et restauré à la Renaissance. History
Built by the counts of Angoulême to resist Norman invasions, the château was rebuilt after the Hundred Years' War and restored in the Renaissance. What remains of it consists of two large square pavilions adjoining each other. One is built over a porch. The windows are topped with rounded pediments. The summit of these two towers is crowned with a gallery of crenellations borne on large stone consoles.
