L'église faisait partie du diocèse de Saintes. Elle a été mutilée au cours de la guerre de Cent ans et saccagée par les Calvinistes. Elle fut restaurée et reçut de gros contreforts au 15e siècle. L'édifice est orienté, à nef unique sans transept, surmonté d'un clocher carré à toit presque plat, dont chaque face est percée de deux baies. L'abside est en cul de four extérieurement et décorée d'arcatures presque aveugles intérieurement. Les arcs extérieurs, surmontés d'une frise, retombent sur des pilastres. Au faux carré, sous le clocher, se trouve une coupole sur pendentifs encadrée d'arcs doubleaux.

History
The church was part of the diocese of Saintes. It was mutilated during the Hundred Years War and sacked by the Calvinists. It was restored and received large buttresses in the 15th century. The building is oriented, with a single nave without transept, surmounted by a square bell tower with an almost flat roof, each face of which is pierced by two openings. The apse is externally a half-dome and decorated internally with almost blind arcatures. The external arches, surmounted by a frieze, rest on pilasters. In the false transept, beneath the bell tower, there is a dome on pendentives framed by doubled arches.
