Attestée en 1117, l'église appartenait à un prieuré bénédictin dépendant de l'abbaye de Charroux. L'édifice est formé d'un clocher porche du 17e siècle, suivi d'une travée carré du 15e siècle, elle-même suivie d'une nef romane de trois travées, la troisième accostée de deux chapelles latérales du19e siècle formant transept aux bras arrondis. Le choeur s'achève par une abside semi-circulaire. La voûte est un berceau plein cintre partant d'une corniche qui se poursuit tout autour de la partie romane et forme l'abaque des chapiteaux. Ce berceau, ainsi que les suivants, a été remonté au 19e siècle.

History
Attested in 1117, the church belonged to a Benedictine priory dependent on the abbey of Charroux. The building is formed of a porch tower of the 17th century, followed by a square bay of the 15th century, itself followed by a Romanesque nave of three bays, the third accompanied by two lateral chapels of the 19th century forming a transept with rounded arms. The choir ends with a semi-circular apse. The vault is a round barrel vault starting from a cornice which continues all around the Romanesque part and forms the abacus of the capitals. This barrel vault, as well as the following ones, was rebuilt in the 19th century.
