Historique
Construite à la fin du 12e siècle, l'église appartenait à l'ancien diocèse de Saintes. Elle a été restaurée à plusieurs reprises, notamment au 15e siècle. Edifice de plan rectangulaire à chevet droit. Une seule nef avec voûte à nervures. Chapiteaux des colonnes sculptés. Au transept, coupole sur pendentifs. Choeur avec voûte sur nervures et grande fenêtre du chevet du 13e siècle. Côté nord du choeur, un grand arc brisé donne accès à une chapelle voûtée sur nervures. Façade occidentale du 13e siècle, avec portail en arc brisé à trois voussures sur colonnes rondes. Deux pilastres à chanfreins séparent le portail des portes aveugles et s'élèvent jusqu'au sommet de la façade. Au-dessus de ce rez-de-chaussée et en retrait se trouvent trois arcatures en arc brisé avec personnages sculptés (Vierge assie, bergers guidés par un ange, rois mages). De chaque côté, arcatures géminées à arcs brisés avec têtes, animaux fantastiques, pointes de diamant et crochets. Sur le transept s'élève un clocher carré.

History
Built at the end of the 12th century, the church belonged to the former diocese of Saintes. It has been restored several times, notably in the 15th century. Building of rectangular plan with chevet droit. A single nave with rib vault. Capitals of the columns sculptured. At the transept, dome on pendentives. Choir with rib vault and large window of the chevet of the 13th century. On the north side of the choir, a large pointed arch gives access to a chapel vaulted on ribs. Western façade of the 13th century, with portal in pointed arch with three voussures on round columns. Two pilasters with chamfers separate the portal from blind doors and rise to the top of the façade. Above this ground floor and set back are three arcatures in pointed arch with sculptured figures (Virgin seated, shepherds guided by an angel, three kings). On each side, geminated arcatures with pointed arches with heads, fantastic animals, diamond points and crockets. On the transept rises a square bell tower.
