Historique

History
The first mention dates back to 1089. The church was rebuilt at the beginning of the 12th century and consecrated in 1142. It was placed under the dependency of the priory of Llado. Canons regular of Saint-Augustine founded a monastery there. The building is in Latin cross, oriented, with a single nave, transept with an apsidiole and semi-circular apse. The nave is covered with a broken barrel vault. The transept arms are covered with barrel vaults with round-arch transversal. Each transept arm is flanked to the east by a semi-circular apsidiole vaulted with a cul-de-four. Semi-circular in plan, the apse is likewise covered with a cul-de-four established at a lower level than the barrel vault of the nave. A diaphragm arch ensures the transition between the two levels. The gable of the façade is charged with a bell-gable with two sloping sides and single arcade in round arch. On either side of the entrance door, three funeral inscriptions on rectangular tables have been fixed to the wall. In the interior, the walls of the apse are decorated with Romanesque frescoes. The decoration consists of a false hanging, a row of arcades containing apostles and a mandorla flanked by the symbols of the Evangelists.
