History
The Gate of Spain was entirely rebuilt in the 18th century. In the time of the original gate, a space must have existed between the house and the rampart, a free space wider than the present one, giving access to the old markets which were located behind this house. The façade on the street comprises two levels. On the ground floor, two arched doors are separated by a trumeau. Their facings are particularly carefully worked, with fine traces of tooling. Interior frame chamfered. On the storey, the façade, laid up as on the ground floor, is cut by a horizontal band, in cavetto and listel, at the level of the spandrels.
