Ces forts, construits en 1725, faisaient partie d'un même plan de défense. Les deux ouvrages sont reliés par un double chemin couvert avec traverses et parapets de tir maçonnés. L'entrée du fort est placée au centre de la façade nord-est. L'accès se fait par un pont sur trois arches au bout duquel venait s'abattre le pont-levis. L'intérieur est divisé en deux étages sur voûtes, comprenant plusieurs salles. Les quatre faces du fort sont percées de meurtrières. Le fort rond est une grosse tour circulaire dont l'intérieur ne comprend qu'une seule salle circulaire aux murs percés de meurtrières. Un escalier donne accès à la plate-forme supérieure munie d'embrasures à canons. Du pied de la tour partent deux remparts disposés en équerre. History
These forts, constructed in 1725, formed part of the same defence plan. The two works are connected by a double covered way with traverses and masonry firing parapets. The square fort presents itself as a redoubt surrounded by a deep ditch cut in the rock. The counterscarp is furnished with galleries and loopholes whose access is by a covered postern where a subterranean passage ends, opening to the south-east, toward the exterior. The entrance of the fort is placed at the centre of the north-east façade. Access is by a three-arch bridge at the end of which came the drawbridge. The interior is divided into two storeys on vaults, comprising several rooms. The four faces of the fort are pierced with loopholes. The round fort is a large circular tower whose interior comprises only a single circular room with walls pierced with loopholes. A staircase gives access to the upper platform furnished with gun embrasures. From the foot of the tower depart two ramparts disposed in a right angle. Old documents mention a "fort of the Star" and a "tower of Puig Musart" of which no trace remains. Their materials may have been used in the building of the square fort.
