Historique

History
The first mention of "Fluvium Tacitum" dates back to 823. The château comprises two ensembles: the church, the keep, the watch tower; the enceinte with its towers. The church was part of the original château. It presents a plan with two equal naves and a single apse. The two naves are covered by a single flattened barrel vault and separated by a wall pierced with three slightly pointed arches. Two chapels were added in the 14th century against the choir. In the 16th century, construction over two bays of a tribune built on rib vaults. The original door opens to the south. Inside, the impost stones of the pillars and the capitals of the pilasters are carved with Romanesque motifs. The church is flanked, to the south, by a tall square building called the "keep", built with river pebbles arranged in a herringbone pattern. The ground floor is occupied by a large hall vaulted with rib vaults. To the west of the keep, between the watch tower and the church, are the remains of a building. Of the outer enceinte, one element remains to the south. The first inner enceinte has retained the greater part of its curtain walls pierced with arrow slits. Three enceinte towers (out of the original five) have been destroyed.
