Historique
Bâtie au 12e siècle par les moines bénédictins de Cendras, l'église était au centre d'un important village disparu. Pendant la Révolution, elle subit d'importants dommages (destruction du clocher, du pignon d'entrée...). Des travaux furent réalisés au cours du 19e siècle. En 1866, la confrérie Notre-Dame de la Salette est constituée sous l'initiative du curé. Depuis cette date et jusqu'en 1969, l'église fut un lieu de pèlerinage, cette dévotion succédant sans doute à un culte plus ancien, voire païen. L'édifice, orienté, se compose d'une grande nef avec choeur en abside ; d'une petite nef latérale avec sacristie dans l'absidiole, postérieure à la grande ; d'une tour carrée avec accès au clocher. Le presbytère est adossé à l'église et se compose d'un hall d'entrée et de deux pièces en rez-de-chaussée ainsi qu'à l'étage. Le linteau porte la date de 1662.

History
Built in the 12th century by the Benedictine monks of Cendras, the church was at the centre of an important vanished village. During the Revolution, it suffered significant damage (destruction of the bell tower, the entrance gable...). Works were carried out during the 19th century. In 1866, the confraternity of Notre-Dame de la Salette was established on the initiative of the priest. From that date until 1969, the church was a place of pilgrimage, this devotion succeeding no doubt an older, even pagan, cult. The building, oriented, comprises a large nave with choir in an apse; a small lateral nave with sacristy in the absidiole, later than the large one; a square tower with access to the bell tower. The presbytery is attached to the church and comprises an entrance hall and two rooms on the ground floor as well as on the upper floor. The lintel bears the date 1662.
