Historique
L'église était une possession de l'abbaye de Sauve, dans le Gard. Elle appartient encore au "type roman" mais d'une époque de transition entre le roman et le gothique. Le portail pourrait dater du 15e siècle. De nombreuses adjonctions de diverses époques, jusqu'au début du 20e siècle, ont modifié le plan initial. L'abside date du 17e siècle ou peut-être davantage. La façade ouest est surmontée d'un clocher élevé en 1901. Le porche abrite le portail décoré de trois tores et de chapiteaux à feuillages. Le tympan vide est supporté par un trumeau. Les deux vantaux de la porte sont décorés de rinceaux de feuillage dans lesquels viennent s'insérer des bêtes monstrueuses. L'édifice se termine par un chevet pentagonal voûté en cul de four.

History
The church was a possession of Sauve Abbey, in the Gard. It still belongs to the "Romanesque type" but of a period of transition between Romanesque and Gothic. The portal could date from the 15th century. Many additions from various periods, up to the beginning of the 20th century, modified the original plan. The apse dates from the 17th century or perhaps earlier. The west façade is topped by a bell tower erected in 1901. The porch shelters the portal decorated with three tori and capitals with foliage. The empty tympan is supported by a trumeau. The two door leaves are decorated with foliage scrollwork in which monstrous beasts are inserted. The building ends with a pentagonal chevet vaulted in cul-de-four.
