Il s'agit sans doute des vestiges d'un ancien donjon médiéval ainsi qu'en témoignent la disposition intérieure des différents étages, les vestiges de niches en plein cintre et les restes d'appareil défensif. La tradition orale rapporte l'existence d'un château féodal. Sur cette construction, un parement de pierres taillées a été plaqué en 1593. Des aménagements ont ensuite été réalisés aux 17e-18e siècles. L'élément le plus intéressant est la porte monumentale du premier niveau. Dans un style Renaissance très pur, l'architecte y a résumé la grammaire de l'architecture classique. Les piedroits sont ornés de deux pilastres lisses à base haute, orné chacun d'un chapiteau ionique supportant un fronton triangulaire. Le fronton est lui-même surmonté d'une corniche qui conclue l'ensemble. La disposition intérieure se fait selon cinq niveaux, chacun composé de deux pièces principales. Cheminées monumentales et vestiges de peintures. Le plafond du quatrième niveau conserve une décoration de moulures sculptées. Le cinquième niveau, étage sous comble, est occupé par un pigeonnier et présente, dans l'angle sud-est, les vestiges des parties hautes d'une construction antérieure.

History
These are undoubtedly the remains of an old medieval keep, as evidenced by the interior layout of the different storeys, the remains of round-arch niches and the remnants of defensive apparatus. Oral tradition reports the existence of a feudal castle. Over this construction, a facing of dressed stones was applied in 1593. Alterations were subsequently made in the 17th-18th centuries. The most interesting element is the monumental doorway on the first level. In a very pure Renaissance style, the architect here summed up the grammar of classical architecture. The jambs are adorned with two smooth pilasters with high bases, each ornamented with an Ionic capital supporting a triangular pediment. The pediment is itself crowned by a cornice which completes the whole. The interior layout comprises five levels, each composed of two main rooms. Monumental fireplaces and remains of paintings. The ceiling of the fourth level preserves a decoration of sculpted mouldings. The fifth level, the attic storey, is occupied by a dovecote and presents, in the south-east angle, the remains of the upper parts of an earlier construction.
