Historique

History
The church was built at the end of the 12th or beginning of the 13th century. Only the choir dates from this period, to judge from the large roll mouldings. The nave was rebuilt in 1520 and enlarged, bell tower and sacristy were constructed. The building has a single nave and semi-circular chevet. The western façade opens by the main entrance, arranged in the 19th century in replacement of an earlier round arch opening of which the masonry preserves the vestiges. The upper part of the chevet was probably heightened in the 14th century to establish a system of defence (two crenellations to the south). Separated from the nave by a diaphragm arch, the choir is covered with a barrel vault broken at the level of its bay, and a cul-de-four at the level of the apse. The capitals of the choir are all sculpted. Of square section, the bell tower rises to the north of the chevet. The bell chamber is pierced with two round arch openings per wall. The bell tower is covered with a cloister vault.
