Au 17e siècle, les Etats de la province de Languedoc financent le grand chemin menant de Béziers à Montpellier, en passant par Pézénas, en particulier les ouvrages d'art franchissant les rivières. En 1750, le ruisseau entre en crue et cause quelques dégâts au pont. En octobre 1751, la réparation du pont a porté sur deux arches voisines de la grande arche ouest et sur une partie de cette dernière. L'ouvrage se compose de cinq arches inégales, supportées par quatre piles munies d'avant-becs vers l'amont et l'aval. L'ensemble des voûtes est en pierre appareillée ainsi que les murs, les piles et les avant-becs.

History
In the 17th century, the States of the province of Languedoc finance the main road leading from Béziers to Montpellier, passing through Pézénas, in particular the engineering works crossing the rivers. In 1750, the stream floods and causes some damage to the bridge. In October 1751, the repair of the bridge concerned two arches adjacent to the great west arch and part of the latter. The structure comprises five unequal arches, supported by four piles furnished with cutwaters towards the upstream and downstream. All the vaults are in ashlar stone as are the walls, the piles and the cutwaters.
