The steep summit of the village is crowned by the mass of the castle. A castrum must have existed from the 12th century. The current foundations appear to date from the end of the 13th century. The plan of the edifice, dictated by the topography, is complex and comprises levels on slopes. It is organized around the summit courtyard. A large rectangular body flanked by a ramp, with round tower, to the north. A structure in a circular arc from north-west to south, with southern access (portal with entablature and remains of pediment; vestiges of a projecting structure called "pillory") extends as far as the eastern round tower. On the courtyard, the first level offers a series of arches with pointed arches and in the north corner, the polygonal turret of the large spiral staircase. The edifice presents the architecture of an old medieval castle transformed into a seigneurial residence in the late 16th and early 17th century.
