The church was originally a castle chapel. It was sold in 1572 for the monastery of Saint-Victor of Marseille to the chapter of Saint-Nazaire of Béziers. Major repairs were undertaken in 1618. The current public square served as a cemetery. A new one was built in the 16th century, abandoned and converted into a public garden. A rectangular porch precedes the entrance door, whose vault is supported by a Romanesque arcade resting on two prismatic columns with capitals representing leaves and human heads. On the façade, a semi-circular arcade in which is found a double opening with pendentives, may date from the Renaissance. The church has a single nave, vaulted in a broken barrel vault with transverse ribs. Rib-vaulted chapels were added to the north and south of the nave. The supports of the arches are terminated by corbels representing mermaids, griffins and other fantastic animals. Two inscriptions on the façade are dated 1180 and 1340.
