Historique
Les Bénédictins de la Chaise-Dieu étaient les seigneurs justiciers de Poussan depuis la fin du 11e siècle. A côté d'eux, il se développa, surtout à partir du 16e siècle, une véritable floraison de coseigneurs dont la plupart édifièrent, dans le village, une résidence plus ou moins ornée. Concernant cette maison, il semble que la décoration de la façade ait été introduite dans une construction très antérieure. A l'angle droit de cette façade, une porte et une tourelle semblent remonter au 14e siècle. La porte, en arc brisé, est défendue par une bretèche ornée de têtes couronnées, orientées de trois quart vers l'intérieur. Le bandeau de la tourelle montre encore son profil gothique. Par contre, l'archivolte en arc brisé de la porte a été chargé par un décor en pointes de diamant. On retrouve ici un exemple d'adaptation d'une façade gothique dans le goût classique, avec le souci constant de réduire au minimum les dépenses de gros oeuvre.

History
The Benedictines of the Chaise-Dieu had been the lords justiciar of Poussan since the late 11th century. Alongside them, there developed, especially from the 16th century onwards, a genuine flowering of co-lords, most of whom built, in the village, a residence more or less ornamented. Concerning this house, it appears that the decoration of the façade was introduced into a much earlier construction. At the right angle of this façade, a door and a turret appear to date from the 14th century. The door, with a pointed arch, is defended by a brattice adorned with crowned heads, oriented three-quarter towards the inside. The string-course of the turret still shows its Gothic profile. By contrast, the voussoir with pointed arch of the door has been charged with diamond-point decoration. Here we find an example of adaptation of a Gothic façade in classical taste, with the constant concern to reduce to a minimum the expenses of structural work.
