Historique
La seigneurie de Péret appartenait en partie au roi, en partie à l'abbé du monastère Saint-Sauveur de Lodève. En 1180, l'abbé Raymond Ier fit l'acquisition des biens possédés à Péret par Fredol, de Pignan. Par la suite, lorsque fut aliénée une partie du domaine royal, c'est au comte de Pézenas que revinrent les droits royaux sur Péret. Un acte de paréage fut passé, au 17e siècle, entre le comte de Pézenas et l'abbé de Saint-Sauveur. L'immeuble, construit au 16e siècle, était soit l'habitation du seigneur ou de quelque lieutenant royal, soit le presbytère dépendant de l'abbé de Saint-Sauveur de Lodève. Il occupe l'angle d'une placette, ce dernier étant en pan coupé. Toutes les baies ont été modifiées, sauf le portail en pan coupé. L'arc du portail est en plein cintre. L'extrados est circulaire. La clef est ornée d'une tête sculptée en relief. Deux consoles soutiennent l'architrave. Leur surface est décorée, en haut, d'une palmette qui diverge en éventail et, plus bas, de feuilles d'acanthe. La frise est divisée en compartiments : six consoles à triglyphes et cinq métopes ornées (masque léonin, rosaces, bucranes...).

History
The lordship of Péret belonged partly to the king, partly to the abbot of the monastery Saint-Sauveur de Lodève. In 1180, abbot Raymond I acquired the goods possessed at Péret by Fredol, of Pignan. Subsequently, when part of the royal domain was alienated, it was to the count of Pézenas that the royal rights over Péret reverted. An act of paréage was passed, in the 17th century, between the count of Pézenas and the abbot of Saint-Sauveur. The building, constructed in the 16th century, was either the dwelling of the lord or of some royal lieutenant, or the presbytery dependent on the abbot of Saint-Sauveur de Lodève. It occupies the corner of a small square, the latter being on a cutaway angle. All the openings have been modified, except the portal on the cutaway angle. The arch of the portal is round. The extrados is circular. The keystone is decorated with a sculpted head in relief. Two consoles support the architrave. Their surface is decorated, at the top, with a palmette that diverges in a fan shape and, lower, with acanthus leaves. The frieze is divided into compartments: six consoles with triglyphs and five decorated metopes (leonine mask, rosettes, bucranium...).
