Historique
Construit en 1647, l'hôtel reçut en 1660 la reine de France, lors de son passage à Montpellier. La façade sur rue est rythmée de pilastres composites et, aux premier et second étages, de lucarnes à frontons coupés. Vers le milieu de cette façade, la porte d'entrée présente un arc en anse de panier, encadré par un ordre de pilastres doriques. Un porche couvert conduit à la cour intérieure. Le deuxième étage de lucarnes, aux frontons cintrés, est surmonté d'un étage plus récent. Le grand escalier, rampe sur rampe, est construit entièrement en pierre, avec bossages alternant avec de grands nus. Des arcs supportent les paliers avec plafonds à caissons. Au premier étage se trouve une grande salle des gardes entièrement ornée de boiseries et de staffs. Une cheminée monumentale occupe le centre d'un panneau. La corniche est surmontée d'une large gorge ornée d'aigles et d'amours, portant des guirlandes.

History
Built in 1647, the hôtel received in 1660 the Queen of France, during her passage through Montpellier. The street façade is articulated with composite pilasters and, on the first and second storeys, dormers with broken pediments. Towards the middle of this façade, the entrance door presents a segmental arch, framed by an order of Doric pilasters. A covered porch leads to the inner courtyard. The second storey of dormers, with curved pediments, is surmounted by a more recent storey. The grand staircase, ramp over ramp, is constructed entirely in stone, with alternating bosses and large smooth sections. Arches support the landings with coffered ceilings. On the first storey is found a large guards' room entirely decorated with woodwork and stucco. A monumental chimney occupies the centre of a panel. The cornice is surmounted by a wide cyma decorated with eagles and cherubs bearing garlands.
