Laroque semble être mentionné pour la première fois en 1108, dans le cartulaire de Cahors. En 1170, il apparaît dans celui de l'abbaye d'Aniane. Le château domine le village. History
Laroque seems to be mentioned for the first time in 1108, in the cartulary of Cahors. In 1170, it appears in that of the abbey of Aniane. The castle overlooks the village. To the west are two semi-circular towers half in ruins. To the south-west, the main building appears to have been built in two phases, as indicated by the old angle bond which divides the south-west façade in two. Geminated windows remain. To the north are situated the remains of the square keep. The east is occupied by the Romanesque chapel of the castle with, to the north, a modern addition. A series of Lombard arcading decorates the south side of the church.
