History
A part of the building dates back at least to the 17th century. This primitive façade was to the east and shows a classical décor. On the first floor, large windows, surmounted by triangular pediments with dentils and flanked by Ionic pilasters. On the second floor, windows with mullions surmounted by a large frieze decorated with garlands, scrolls and trophies. At the architrave, rules separated by lines of batons. Above, another frieze, then a cable and modillions bearing the cornice. The bare pilasters are decorated with Corinthian capitals. Although less richly decorated, the façades on the interior courtyard are of the same style. The façade on the Esplanade is relatively modern and probably due to the royal notary Jean Trinquelague (1707). This façade is composed only of a ground floor with central entrance and large terrace. Behind this terrace is found the principal façade. These façades, remodelled in the 18th century, are decorated with ironwork. The large gate of the terrace draws, above the entrance, a setback in a balcony. This gate is composed of large panels, with double frame, separated by balusters. The scrolls of the infills are symmetrical with respect to the vertical axis materialized by a round and leafy stem. The S-scrolls are grouped in pairs, in the form of a lyre.
