Historique
Bien que séparé par une ruelle d'une ancienne maison des abbés de Sauve, cet immeuble devait être une dépendance du monastère selon la tradition locale. La construction ne paraît pas antérieure au 17e ou 18e siècle. Le portail est rectangulaire, tiercé, mais le linteau offre un décor manifestement plus ancien. Il s'agit vraisemblablement d'un réemploi. C'est probablement un fragment de monument funéraire d'un abbé de Sauve. La face visible du linteau est décorée, en bas-relief, d'une série de huit arcatures géminées, plus deux arcatures terminales qui abritent chacune un personnage. Seul le personnage de droite est encore assez distinct. Les arcatures sont décorées tantôt de trilobes, tantôt de quadrilobes, orientés verticalement ou en diagonale. Les petites arcatures des formes géminées sont redentées, en trois lobes étirés, d'un style tardif. Les écoinçons ont reçu des décors variés (palmettes, marguerites, oiseaux).

History
Although separated by an alley from a former house of the abbots of Sauve, this building was supposed to be a dependency of the monastery according to local tradition. The construction does not appear to predate the 17th or 18th century. The portal is rectangular, divided into thirds, but the lintel displays decoration manifestly older. This is probably a reuse. It is likely a fragment of a funerary monument of an abbot of Sauve. The visible face of the lintel is decorated, in low relief, with a series of eight twin arcatures, plus two terminal arcatures which each shelter a figure. Only the figure on the right is still sufficiently distinct. The arcatures are decorated sometimes with trilobes, sometimes with quadrilobes, oriented vertically or diagonally. The small arcatures of the twin forms are redented, in three elongated lobes, of a late style. The spandrels received varied decoration (palmettes, daisies, birds).
