Le nom de Ferrals apparaît pour la première fois en 1213, lié aux comtes de Toulouse. Il devint propriété de l'abbaye de Saint-Papoul au moment de la croisade albigeoise, et ce jusqu'au 13e siècle. Le fondateur du château neuf serait François Ier de Rogier, propriétaire au 16e siècle. L'édifice était en construction en 1565. L'architecte en serait Geoffre Jearoy ou Jearry, de Ferrals. Les ruines du château des 14e et 15e siècles sont visibles au bout d'une allée du parc (tour de la reine Marguerite, carrée au rez-de-chaussée et ronde au premier étage). La forteresse est entourée de fossés, commandés par des créneaux. Le château est flanqué de six tours, trois à l'est et trois à l'ouest. History
The name of Ferrals appears for the first time in 1213, linked to the counts of Toulouse. It became property of the abbey of Saint-Papoul at the time of the Albigensian crusade, and until the 13th century.
