Historique
L'immeuble dépend de l'îlot autrefois nommé "île Saint-Hilaire". L'emplacement était occupé, vers 1780, par l'écurie de monsieur Mengaud, conseiller à la cour des Aides. La construction de cette écurie est certainement postérieure à 1696, car à cette date se trouvait là la maison d'un potier d'étain. Les portiques actuels (sur colonnes toscanes en bois) sont peut-être des vestiges de l'ancienne cour cavalière. Le portail, beaucoup plus récent, est orné d'une enseigne de foudrier. La rareté de ces enseignes a justifié la mention de celle-ci, qui ne doit pas être antérieure au milieu du 19e siècle. Le linteau porte, en guise d'enseigne, un foudre ovale chargé de grappes de raisin et de feuilles de vigne.

History
The building depends on the block formerly named "île Saint-Hilaire". The location was occupied, around 1780, by the stable of monsieur Mengaud, councillor at the court of Aides. The construction of this stable is certainly posterior to 1696, for at that date there was located there the house of a pewterer. The current porticos (on wooden Tuscan columns) are perhaps vestiges of the old riding yard. The portal, much more recent, is decorated with a sign of a lightning-rod maker. The rarity of these signs justified the mention of this one, which should not be prior to the mid-19th century. The lintel bears, by way of a sign, an oval lightning rod charged with grape clusters and vine leaves.
