En 1777, l'ouvrage est mentionné comme ancien sur l'état général des ponts du diocèse. L'appareil de la maçonnerie est intéressant car il n'est pas du tout conforme aux prescriptions établies vers 1608 dans l'étendue de la province de Languedoc et partout respectées, au moins lorsque le diocèse ou la province devaient participer aux charges de la construction. L'ouvrage servait autrefois de passage à l'ancien chemin de Fajac et reliait par conséquent à la cité de Carcassonne ce lieu qui dépendait de sa prépositure. Ce chemin menait également à l'ancien château-fort des Cours, construit par les Templiers au 12e siècle, plus tard propriété de l'ordre de Malte. La construction peut dater au moins du 16e siècle. Elle est à deux arches, en plein cintre. La pile centrale présente un éperon uniquement vers l'amont. Le bec de l'éperon est renforcé par de gros blocs disposés en harpe. La construction est en moellons, à joints sommairement dressés. Les assises sont de hauteurs très irrégulières.

History
In 1777, the structure is mentioned as ancient in the general inventory of bridges of the diocese. The masonry apparatus is interesting because it does not at all conform to the prescriptions established around 1608 in the extent of the province of Languedoc and everywhere respected, at least when the diocese or province had to participate in the charges of construction. The structure formerly served as a passage for the old road of Fajac and consequently connected to the city of Carcassonne that place which depended on its preparatory.
