Limousis faisait partie de la châtellenie royale de Cabaret. L'ancienne demeure seigneuriale a été reconstruite au 18e siècle. La maison Gastou en était probablement une dépendance. La cheminée date de 1658. Le linteau, uni, est orné en son centre d'un cartouche avec la date 1658, les chiffres 16 et 58 encadrant un monogramme composé de la lettre G surmontée d'un chiffre 4. Le manteau, vertical, est divisé en trois compartiments. Le compartiment central, plus saillant, contient une figuration de la Vierge sur toute sa hauteur. History
Limousis was part of the royal castellany of Cabaret. The former seigneurial dwelling was rebuilt in the 18th century. The Gastou house was probably a dependency of it. The fireplace dates from 1658. The lintel, plain, is decorated at its centre with a cartouche bearing the date 1658, the numerals 16 and 58 framing a monogram composed of the letter G surmounted by the numeral 4. The mantelpiece, vertical, is divided into three compartments. The central compartment, more prominent, contains a representation of the Virgin over its entire height. The Virgin, crowned with flowers, holding the Child on her left arm, draped in a simple garment, stands out in strong relief against a background of flat clouds, rounded, sown with heads of winged angels. The Child holds in his hand the globe of the world. Each of the two lateral compartments is decorated with a large flower vase (roses and lilies), with two handles. The whole is in plasterwork.
