The oldest mention of a church dates back to 932. The present building shows no part earlier than the 16th century. The building has a single nave, not vaulted. Two periods of construction seem to emerge for this latter. The western part, damaged by the fall of the bell tower in 1609, was doubtless rebuilt wider, since the porch, spared by the fall, presents the same width as the eastern part. Of slightly oblong plan, the porch is vaulted with liernes and tiercerons. The ribs rest on sculpted corbels. Facing the door is a flamboyant canopy. The support is decorated with an angel with large lowered wings, presenting an escutcheon quarterly, partly erased (coat of arms of the archbishop of Este). This porch supports a substantial square bell tower, transitioning to octagonal and having two storeys in its square part and one only in its octagonal part. The square storeys probably represent what remains of the 16th century bell tower. Access to the bell tower is by an octagonal turret buttressed, built inside the church. South of the sanctuary is a niche which was formerly used as a piscina. The accolade arch which frames it has prismatic moulding, with talon bases, hollowed spandrels. Its existence is sufficient to show that the chevet, despite its modern external appearance, has retained its 16th century walls.
