The church is mentioned for the first time in 993. It is cited in 1143 and 1145 in an inventory of the Commandery of Narbonne of the Hospitallers of Saint-Jean de Jérusalem. In 1212, the archbishop of Narbonne cedes to the chapter of Saint-Just de Narbonne the church of Cuxac. The church has a single nave, with lateral chapels and semi-circular apse. The nave is divided into four oblong bays covered with rib vaults. The sanctuary is composed of a bay of chevet flanked by two chapels and an apse covered with a cul de four. The square bell tower is placed slightly askew in relation to the nave of the 14th century, which appears to indicate that it was built before it. The upper part of the tower and the octagonal brick spire were built in 1598. In the 18th century, the chapel of the Penitents was attached to the chevet.
