Historique
Le moulin, propriété de l'archevêque de Narbonne, est mentionné dès 1237. Dans son état actuel, cet ancien moulin comprend deux corps : sur la rive, un vaste bâtiment rectangulaire de trois étages, en ruines, pas antérieur au 18e siècle et, débordant sur le lit de la rivière, un ensemble fortifié. La face située en amont est occupée par une tour carrée, surélevée de quelques mètres par une tourelle carrée, à l'angle sud-ouest. Le sommet de la tourelle a été transformé en pigeonnier, avec murettes-abris. Ce bâtiment se continue par de hautes courtines suivant un plan polygonal irrégulier convexe, l'ensemble dessinant à peu près un ovale très allongé. Du côté du fleuve, la courtine enjambe un passage voûté, abrité du courant par la tour. Tour et courtines sont percées d'archères.

History
The mill, property of the archbishop of Narbonne, is mentioned from 1237 onwards. In its present state, this former mill comprises two bodies: on the bank, a vast rectangular building of three storeys, in ruins, not earlier than the 18th century and, extending over the bed of the river, a fortified complex. The face situated upstream is occupied by a square tower, raised by several metres by a square turret, at the south-west angle. The summit of the turret was converted into a dovecote, with sheltering walls. This building continues with high curtain walls following an irregular convex polygonal plan, the whole drawing approximately a very elongated oval. On the river side, the curtain spans a vaulted passage, sheltered from the current by the tower. Tower and curtains are pierced with loopholes.
