En 1089, Gasparets était une "villa". Au 12e siècle, Gasparets appartint à une famille qui portait ce nom et qui, par ses libéralités successives envers les monastères de Lagrasse et de Fontfroide puis, plus tard, envers les hospitaliers de Saint-Jean de Jérusalem, devaient amener ces trois ordres religieux à prétendre à leurs droits sur ce territoire. In 1089, Gasparets was a "villa". In the 12th century, Gasparets belonged to a family which bore this name and which, through its successive acts of generosity towards the monasteries of Lagrasse and Fontfroide and then, later, towards the hospitallers of Saint-Jean de Jérusalem, were to lead these three religious orders to claim their rights over this territory. The church consists of a nave vaulted in broken barrel vault and a lower sanctuary, also vaulted.
