Construit de 1845 à 1847 par l'architecte Lambert. Incendié en 1901, reconstruit (projet Ferret) en 1902-1903 dans le style de l'Opéra de Paris. Incendie en 1983 : salle des fêtes transformée en CARCOM (Carrefour de la Communication). Outre le CARCOM, l'édifice comprend également le Grand Café de Strasbourg et le Grand Café du Théatre.

History
Built from 1845 to 1847 by the architect Lambert. Destroyed by fire in 1901, rebuilt (Ferret project) in 1902-1903 in the style of the Paris Opera. Fire in 1983: banqueting hall transformed into CARCOM (Communication Hub). Apart from the CARCOM, the building also comprises the Grand Café de Strasbourg and the Grand Café du Théatre.
