La famille Nuchèze est citée début 14e siècle. En 1439, Catherine de Nuchèze épousa Jacques de Montalembert, seigneur de Ferrière, auteur probable du château. Le domaine se compose d'un pigeonnier circulaire, d'une chapelle Sainte-Catherine rectangulaire, édifiée vers 1630, d'un four à pain et du corps de logis rectangulaire avec une tour hors-oeuvre polygonale renfermant un escalier en vis au centre, et une tour carrée en avancée sur la gauche. History
The Nuchèze family is mentioned at the beginning of the 14th century. In 1439, Catherine de Nuchèze married Jacques de Montalembert, lord of Ferrière, the probable builder of the castle. The estate comprises a circular dovecot, a rectangular Sainte-Catherine chapel, built around 1630, a bread oven and the rectangular main dwelling with a polygonal turret projecting from the centre containing a spiral staircase, and a square tower projecting on the left. A high gable stops at the level of the staircase tower. The dwelling, probably rebuilt in the 18th century, continues then to the right of the tower under a lower roof. Each room has retained its fireplace. The architecture is characteristic of the end of the Middle Ages.
