Historique
Des chartes signées en 1092 et 1119, permettent de dater l'édification de l'église et du prieuré. Ce dernier fut sans doute ruiné pendant les guerres de Religion, au moment de la prise de Parthenay et de son pillage par les Protestants, en 1562. Le prieuré ne fut pas reconstruit mais quelques dégâts furent restaurés. Il n'existait plus à la fin du 18e siècle. Les éléments conservés formaient le fond du cloître et l'entrée de la salle capitulaire. Il s'agit de trois arcs plein cintre dont les intrados sont doublés d'une corniche décorée. Les retombées s'appuient par une assise formant tailloir sur des chapiteaux sculptés. Chaque arc latéral est refendu par deux autres arcs en plein cintre dont les retombées centrales reposent sur des colonnes jumelées monolithes.

History
Charters signed in 1092 and 1119 make it possible to date the construction of the church and the priory. The latter was probably ruined during the Wars of Religion, at the time of the taking of Parthenay and its plundering by the Protestants in 1562. The priory was not rebuilt but some damage was repaired. It no longer existed at the end of the 18th century. The surviving elements formed the back of the cloister and the entrance of the chapter house. These are three round arches whose intrados are doubled by a decorated cornice. The springings rest by an ashlar course forming an abacus on sculptured capitals. Each lateral arch is split by two other round arches whose central springings rest on monolithic paired columns.
