Construite par l'architecte Lionel de la Réau, cette maison est l'un des rares édifices intéressants de la Renaissance subsistant à Niort. La travée principale de la façade se compose d'une porte d'entrée avec pilastres et couronnement sculptés et décorés, surmontée d'une lucarne également décorée. Sur sa partie gauche, la façade comporte une échauguette en encorbellement également ornée. L'intérieur conserve un escalier Henri II, à paliers et volées droites entre murs d'échiffre. Les plafonds sont constitués de caissons en pierre sculptée.

History
Built by architect Lionel de la Réau, this house is one of the rare interesting Renaissance buildings surviving in Niort. The main bay of the facade consists of an entrance door with pilasters and moulded and decorated crowning, surmounted by a dormer also decorated. On its left part, the facade comprises a corbelled echauguette also adorned. The interior preserves a Henri II staircase, with landings and straight flights between wall strings. The ceilings consist of panels of sculptured stone.
