Historique

History
At the beginning of the 19th century, the old castle was in ruins. A new construction was undertaken, which was completed in 1819. The building consists of the castle accompanied by two pavilions, a sheep house with colonnades, outbuildings and a cage. The south façade of the castle presents a central avant-corps that stands out slightly from the rest of the building and which is surmounted by a triangular pediment. The avant-corps of the north façade is in rotunda form, open with French doors topped by a curved pediment. The interior preserves Empire decoration. The rotunda room, on the ground floor, is adorned with a high colonnade whose "Return from Egypt" capitals are in lotus flowers. The flooring is in marquetry. The bedrooms received a decorative scheme of architectural character (pilasters with Corinthian or Egyptian-inspired capitals, pediments and decorated imposte posts...). According to family tradition, each of the two pavilions had a precise function. One served as a dairy (jug with handles carved on the door); the other as a bathroom). Facing the pediment façade of the castle, the colonnade originally consisted of twelve columns of Doric inspiration. The sheep house takes up the style of Greek temples, with a portico of sixteen Doric columns and an interior construction. The metal cage had been erected to house exotic animals. The fountain consists of a stele in dressed stone topped by a moulded cornice. Water escapes through the mouth of a dolphin and falls into a granite basin.
