The provostry of Beaune was dependent on the abbey of Saint-Martin of Limoges. Beaune had been a grant of Saint Eloi to this monastery. After the capture of Limoges by the king Henry of England, the abbots of Saint-Martin began the rebuilding of their monastery. The bishop of Limoges and the abbot of Saint-Martial attempted to seize the abbey by relegating the monks to the provostry of Beaune. Nave of the 13th century vaulted on rib vaults, pierced with a Limousin portal. At the crossing of the transept, cruciform pillars supporting double arches. A dome on pendentives existed but was replaced by a rib vault in the 13th century. Nothing remains of the north transept arm which probably existed. The south transept arm, although altered, has preserved its original appearance on the side of the apsidiole. Choir and south transept arm of the 12th century. Externally, buttresses of the 15th century.
