L'ancien donjon castral offre un specimen intéressant de l'architecture militaire en Limousin. De plan rectangulaire, mesurant trente mètres, le donjon est renforcé par des contreforts terminés à la partie haute par des ouvertures. La porte est percée au premier étage, au-dessus d'un cordon se déroulant sur tout le pourtour. Aucune ouverture ne se remarque avant le quatrième étage, étage où des baies rectangulaires peuvent avoir donné accès à une galerie extérieure en bois. Les mâchicoulis ont complètement disparu, sauf quelques consoles.

History
The old castle keep presents an interesting specimen of military architecture in Limousin. Of rectangular plan, measuring thirty metres, the keep is reinforced by buttresses terminated at the upper part by openings. The door is pierced on the first floor, above a string course running all around. No opening is seen before the fourth floor, floor where rectangular openings may have given access to an external wooden gallery. The machicolations have completely disappeared, except a few corbels.
