The seigniory of Brie existed in the 12th century. In 1484, Jehan, viscount of Rochechouart, authorizes Jehan de Brye, esquire and lord of the place, to build a fortified house with towers, turrets, crenellations, machicolations, ditches, drawbridge... The building presents a rectangular corps de logis, flanked by a central square stair tower and two large circular corner towers at the rear. The external elevation of the château is characteristic of constructions of fortified houses in Limousin at the end of the 15th century. On the first floor, the interior preserves two drawing rooms which received around 1900 a decoration of woodwork ornamented with gypseries. Dovecote of the 16th century.
