Historique
L'église était autrefois sous le patronage de l'abbaye de Chambon-sur-Voueize. D'origine romane, du 12e siècle, elle se compose d'une nef à chevet plat, construite en pierres de taille de granit. La façade occidentale est surmontée d'un clocher-mur percé de deux arcades campanaires. Des sondages réalisés en 1987 sur la voûte du choeur ont mis à jour des peintures murales de la fin du 13e siècle-début du 14e siècle. Ce décor a été réalisé sur un mortier sec et à la détrempe, dans les tons ocres rouge et jaune sur fond blanc. La voûte du choeur laisse voir un Christ en Magesté, au nimbe crucifère, bénissant et entouré d'une mandorle sur un fond composé d'un semis de fleurs. L'arc triomphal présente, sur l'intrados, plusieurs scènes sous forme de petits tableaux juxtaposés représentant les travaux des mois.

History
The church was formerly under the patronage of the abbey of Chambon-sur-Voueize. Of Romanesque origin, of the 12th century, it comprises a nave with flat chevet, constructed in ashlar stone of granite. The western facade is surmounted by a bell tower-wall pierced with two campanile arcades. Probes carried out in 1987 on the vault of the choir brought to light wall paintings of the late 13th century - early 14th century. This decoration was executed on dry mortar and in distemper, in tones of red and yellow ochre on a white ground. The vault of the choir reveals a Christ in Majesty, with a cruciform nimbus, blessing and surrounded by a mandorla against a background composed of a semis of flowers. The triumphal arch presents, on its inner surface, several scenes in the form of small juxtaposed panels representing the labours of the months.
