History

Jean de Brosse rebuilt at the beginning of the 15th century the fortress dismantled in the 13th century by the English. Built on a rectangular plan, the castle has two square towers and a three-sided staircase turret on its east facade, as well as a round tower at its south-west corner. Dormers whose 15th-century gables have crockets, fleurons and flamboyant compartments. A staircase door with a pointed arch has a sculpted tympanum. The south-west tower has retained part of the corbels of its former machicolations. The windows of the first and second storeys were altered in the 18th century. Inside, the former guard room preserves fireplaces, one of which is carved with a frieze.
