Historique
Château construit en 1482 par Mathurin Barton de Montbas, issu d'une famille de la Haute Marche. Le château est précédé par un porche fortifié couronné de mâchicoulis. Le château est flanqué de deux tours rondes aux angles et d'une tour carrée d'escalier couronnée de mâchicoulis. Le corps de logis et les tours rondes ont été arrasés à la Révolution. A l'intérieur, une salle du second étage conserve des décors peints du 16e siècle, en camaïeu. History
Castle built in 1482 by Mathurin Barton de Montbas, descended from a family of Haute Marche. The castle is preceded by a fortified porch crowned with machicolations. The castle is flanked by two round towers at the angles and a square staircase tower crowned with machicolations. The main dwelling and the round towers were razed at the Revolution. Within, a room on the second storey preserves painted decoration of the 16th century, in monochrome.
