Fine example of architecture of the 15th and 16th centuries, particularly in its upper parts, which served as the last refuge of Marshal Ney in 1815. The origin dates back to the 12th century. The present dwelling, covered with slate shingles, was built at the end of the 16th century and consisted, initially, of a quadrilateral adorned with a hexagonal tower crowned with machicolations containing the spiral staircase, a corner turret on a corbelled squinch and, at the rear, a large round tower lowered at an unknown date. Two bodies of building were subsequently attached to the main dwelling, in its extension. The courtyard is bounded by a chemin de ronde. A large circular tower that served as a chapel is connected by a gallery furnished with balustrades and surmounted by a watchturret to a second tower built in the early 20th century, on the site of a communal oven. A barn is placed against the blank west facade of the castle.
