La région du plateau de Millevaches conserve une intéressante série de sculptures naïves, parmi lesquelles les croix de chemin sont particulièrement nombreuses. Cette croix, inscrite dans un cercle, est très différente des autres. Elle est posée sur un soubassement formé d'un bloc de pierre. Elle est entièrement inscrite dans un cercle ajouré, de section carrée, aux angles émoussés. Le montant et les bras, cubiques, s'entrecroisent au centre du cercle qu'ils joignent en formant, dans les intervalles, quatre ajours en quart de cercle. History
The region of the Millevaches plateau preserves an interesting series of naive sculptures, among which wayside crosses are particularly numerous. This cross, inscribed in a circle, is very different from the others. It is placed on a base formed of a stone block. It is entirely inscribed in an openwork circle, of square section, with rounded angles. The vertical post and the arms, cubic, intersect at the centre of the circle which they join by forming, in the intervals, four openings in quarter circles. On the north face is sculpted very crudely the effigy of the crucified Christ. The head, whose features are barely visible, is in the proportion of 1/3 of that of the body. He is clothed in a long robe descending to mid-leg. The cross may be of Romanesque period or be more recent if it is a resumption of ancient techniques.
